WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for primary caregivers with children ages 12-15 years old.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Eligible participants will travel to the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities Campus) for one visit to the lab. At the visit, his/her child will engage in a short learning task while we measure heart-rate information and collect video data. The primary caregiver will also complete some questionnaires and describe aspects of their child’s development.

HOW LONG DOES THE STUDY LAST?
Each visit will last approximately 1.5 hours and parking will be provided. Parents will receive $10 and children will receive $15 for their participation.

WHAT WILL WE LEARN?
By understanding how children coordinate their bodies and minds to learn and adjust to changing environmental contexts, we will gain a better understanding of the basic processes that underlie learning and other social outcomes. This new information may ultimately lead to the development of learning interventions and help promote child social and psycho-physiological competencies early in life.

The principal investigators of this study are Meriah DeJoseph, Daniel Berry Ph.D., and Kathleen Thomas Ph.D., at the UMN’s Institute of Child Development. This study has been approved by the University of Minnesota Institutional Review Board: Study #8286.
